Betrand Peto Reveals the Secret Behind the Song 'Bila Memang Kamu' that Reached Tens of Millions of Listeners

The success of this song certainly motivates the teenager from East Nusa Tenggara even more. He feels grateful that his work can go viral and capture the hearts of fans, especially those who are feeling melancholic.

"Of course, I'm happy, happy that many people are listening, grateful as well, and more enthusiastic about creating. And thanks to that song, I also get to know where I can sing outside the city," said the 20-year-old singer.

Interestingly, Onyo revealed the creative process behind the creation of the hit song. It turns out that the heart-wrenching melody started from a spontaneous chant or humming he did, before it was seriously worked on by the music team.

"So we made that song, and it was Kak Clara who created it. The melody was originally from me. I made the melody together with Tintin, if I'm not mistaken. The one who made my song is also the one who composed the music, Tintin," explained Onyo.

The process of making the song was quite efficient yet still thorough. Onyo and the team needed about a month to complete everything, from audio recording to visualization.

"If you ask how long it took, it was about a month, almost (a month). That includes the shooting of the music video," he added.

Although he is known for often performing mellow songs, Onyo admitted that he did not experience significant difficulties during the recording process. The main challenge was actually how to provide improvisation so that the feeling of melancholy in the song remained unique and challenging.

"If it's about difficulties, no. The difficulty is just finding where we can make an improv that still becomes a melancholic song but with a challenge in it," concluded the older sibling of Thalia Putri Onsu.
