Bunga Zainal Accompanies Sukdev Singh to Visit the National Police Headquarters, Demanding Clarity on Allegations of a Multi-Billion Rupiah Check Fraud Case

Film producer Sukhdev Singh visited the National Police Headquarters to follow up on reports of an alleged investment fraud in coal that caused him losses of up to billions of rupiah. Sukhdev was accompanied by his wife, Bunga Zainal, and a legal team to inquire about the progress of the investigation against the reported individual with the initials DH.

This case began when Sukhdev Singh was offered a business partnership in coal with the guarantee of three checks. However, when the investment payment started to stall and the checks were to be cashed, it turned out that the account had no funds, meaning the checks were worthless.

"Well, there were actually three guarantee checks given to me. Two checks were each worth Rp330 million and one check was worth Rp2 billion," said Sukhdev Singh when met at the Propam Division of the National Police Headquarters on Tuesday (2/6/2026).

The Sukhdev party feels there is an oddity in the legal process currently underway at the police. The criminal report was submitted back in August 2024, yet there has still been no determination of suspects, even though the evidence is considered very strong.

"In this case, my client was seduced into making an investment in coal. In this matter, our client requested a guarantee, and thus checks were issued. There were three checks in total," said Tommy Sinulingga.

"One check was for Rp2 billion, and there were two other checks for Rp330 million in total. Initially, this seduction involved Mrs. Bunga, who was persuaded because she had known her close friend for 10 years. However, there was no business activity involved, and then a meeting was requested with Mrs. Bunga's husband, Mr. Sukdev. They were introduced, and then the investment took place," he continued.

Bunga Zainal, who was also present, emphasized that her position in this case is as a witness as well as a victim of seduction. She feels dragged into this because DH is an old friend of hers who has ultimately harmed her husband financially.

"So my coming here is to accompany my husband, and also to be a witness. I can say I am a witness, right, Bang? Regarding the alleged eh fraud case. That's right, that's right. But later, the details can be asked to the lawyer team," said Bunga Zainal.

"And why am I a witness here? Because I am also the second defendant in eh the civil case and also, coincidentally, this is indeed someone I know and I was involved in the meeting regarding this case, so I am also involved as a witness," Bunga Zainal added.

Although Sukhdev Singh has won the civil lawsuit at the cassation level, this criminal report is considered very important to provide a deterrent effect. They hope that the police investigators will work professionally and transparently inhandling this case.
