In the midst of the looting disaster that struck his home, presenter Uya Kuya showed an extraordinary side of humanity. When visiting the East Jakarta Metro Police on Wednesday (03/9/2025), he unexpectedly took the step of forgiving one of the suspected perpetrators.

The perpetrator was a middle-aged woman who was caught taking an indoor air conditioning unit from Uya's residence. After hearing the background of the woman, the husband of Astrid Khairunisha was moved.

According to Uya, the economic and family conditions of the mother are very concerning. This fact made him reconsider his intention to continue the legal process against the mother.

"It turns out there is a suspected perpetrator who is a mother, older than me. This mother also works as a parking attendant, and her grandchild is mute and has a disability," he revealed.

Instead of seeking punishment, this 50-year-old man took the initiative to propose restorative justice, an approach that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment.

"And earlier I decided, I will take the initiative to propose restorative justice," he emphasized.

Uya explained that he directly requested the police not to proceed with the case involving the mother to the next stage. He wants this issue to be resolved at the police level only.

"So that this is not taken to the next stage, so it doesn't have to go to court," he added.

The presenter, who is also known as the 'King of Staging', admitted that his decision came purely from his conscience. He felt a strong intuition to forgive and give the mother a second chance.
