Intention to Help a Friend, Queen Meta and Anisa Bahar Instead Become Victims of Alleged Fraud Worth Hundreds of Millions

Good intentions do not always yield sweet results. This is what two senior dangdut singers, Ratu Meta and Anisa Bahar. Intended to help a friend who claimed to be in trouble, both ended up ensnared in a swirl of a fraud case with total losses reaching hundreds of millions of rupiah.

The case began when Ratu Meta was contacted by a friend with the initials NF, who is the owner of a pilgrimage travel agency. Under the pretext of needing bridging funds to buy tickets, NF borrowed a sum of money from Ratu Meta with a promise to return it soon.

"At first, she borrowed money for a collaboration, she said it was to buy umrah tickets. She even cried asking for my help," said Ratu Meta when met in the Fatmawati area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4/2026) night.
