Jihane Almira Sets Fire to Play the Character of a Same-Sex Lover to Develop Acting Skills

The 21-year-old actress admitted that she felt challenged when she was offered the role. Therefore, Jihane Almira didn't hesitate to accept it.

"So, my manager first said, 'Ji, there's an offer for a series but your role is a lesbian and there might be a hot scene'. I was like, 'It's okay'. Because I'm a daring person, hahaha," Jihane said during a virtual press conference on Tuesday (24/8).

"Playing a lesbian character is also a challenge for my acting career. I think this will be a good opportunity to enhance my acting skills. And Jihan can understand people better by observing acting, putting herself in other people's lives. Something that I want to take, you know," she added.

To delve into the character, Jihane Almira watched lesbian-themed films with other cast members. This was done to learn about the different behaviors of same-sex lovers.

"Watching films with lesbian scenes to get a feel for it. Because I also want to know if their behavior is the same as pure women and pure men when they are in love. If they're the same, we can just wrap it up easily. If the feeling hasn't been obtained yet, it can still be manipulated. It turns out that there are some differences because the basics are two women with different roles, whether they play the female or male role," explained the beautiful figure born in Semarang.

SIANIDA itself takes the story of a woman who dies after drinking cyanide coffee. Although it has similarities with the sensationalized news, producer Raam Punjabi emphasizes that this is a fictional story.

"There are many cyanide cases, but there is one high-profile case that our film is associated with. I emphasize that this is a fictional story, fictional characters, events, and everything else. All created by the writer and the team," Raam firmly stated in the same session.
