Nagita Slavina Reveals the Reason RANS Chose Basketball as the Start of the Youth Sports Series

Kapanlagi.com - RANS Entertainment officially opened the Youth Sports Series by holding a high school basketball competition. According to RANS Entertainment's CEO, Nagita Slavina, basketball was chosen as the first sport because it is considered to have great potential and is supported by the ecosystem that the company already has.

Nagita explained that the presence of the professional basketball team RANS Simba was one of the main considerations. This makes RANS more prepared to start a program for nurturing young athletes through basketball.

"Why basketball? Because one of the reasons is that we also have a basketball team. We have the RANS Simba basketball team. That’s extraordinary, that’s one of the reasons. So we feel we have strength in that area," said Nagita Slavina when met in the Senopati area, South Jakarta, Thursday (16/7/2026).

In addition, RANS also conducted research before determining the first sport branch that will be contested. The results showed that basketball is still considered one of the favorite sports among high school students.

"Friends from the RANS team also did research to see which sports are popular among high school kids. The potential is still extraordinary," she said.

Nagita hopes that the Youth Sports Series will not only be held in Jakarta. In the future, she wants the competition to reach various regions so that more students have the opportunity to showcase their abilities.

"Maybe this time in Jakarta, please pray that in the future it won't just be in Jakarta, but also in other cities. Bismillah, insyaallah it will be a blessing for everyone," she said.

She also hopes that this event can be a platform for young athletes to develop while contributing to the advancement of sports in Indonesia. "For the younger ones, this is a stage to showcase their abilities. It is hoped that in the future it can become something good for the future of sports in Indonesia," said Nagita.

Not stopping at basketball, Nagita ensures that RANS Entertainment wants the Youth Sports Series to continue to develop by introducing more sports in the next event.
