Nia Daniaty's Legal Counsel Ready to Report Victims of Fake CPNS to Police If Client's Name is Still Dragged In

In a civil hearing held at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (1/4/2026), her party, through legal counsel, expressed objections to her name being involved in the lawsuit.

This case began with a lawsuit from hundreds of victims against Olivia Nathania alias Oi regarding alleged unlawful acts. However, in its development, the victims also included Nia Daniaty's name as a co-defendant in a compensation claim of Rp 8.1 billion.

Nia Daniaty's party believes that this action has no clear legal basis. They emphasize that their client has no direct involvement in the case currently being processed in court.

Nia Daniaty's attorney, Nyoman Rae, revealed that they have held meetings with the victims to request explanations regarding the involvement of her client's name.

"We have met and questioned why Nia Daniaty's name is dragged into this issue," said Nyoman Rae at a different time.

According to Nyoman, in the ongoing legal matter, the responsibility for compensation should be imposed on the main defendant, not on other parties who are not directly involved.

"So in my opinion, their desire for Mrs. Nia to be involved in this compensation is irrelevant," he stated.

He also emphasized that the legal basis used in this case is the positive law that applies in Indonesia. Therefore, approaches outside of those provisions are considered not to be a foundation in the legal process.

"In the law here, what is used is positive law, not sharia law," he added.

Furthermore, the side of Nia Daniaty believes that dragging the name of someone who is not directly related to the case can actually injure the principle of justice that should be upheld in the judicial process.

"So I said earlier in the mediation room, the court is a space for justice. It is unfair to drag in other parties who are not involved in the legal case, as if they must be responsible for the legal issues," she explained.

Not only that, Nia Daniaty's side also highlighted the actions of several parties who used posters or visual materials that included her client's name. This is considered detrimental and has the potential to defame her reputation.

In response, legal steps have begun to be taken by sending a warning letter to the related parties. The warning serves as a reminder not to involve Nia Daniaty's name in the controversy surrounding the fake CPNS case.

"So, I will send that warning again if they continue to use posters or images calling for Ms. Nia Daniaty to be held responsible for this issue," she explained.

Nia Daniaty's party also does not rule out the possibility of bringing this matter to the criminal realm if the warning is ignored. This is done as an effort to protect her client's rights and reputation.

"Well, if that continues, then I will send a second summons and it is not impossible that I will report it criminally. That's it," said Nyoman Rae.

The long wait for 179 victims of the bogus CPNS scam by Olivia Nathania has not yet found a bright spot. Their condition is very concerning as many are burdened with heavy financial loads, and some have even become depressed to the point of death while awaiting clarity on compensation.
