Manoj Punjabi Challenges Awi Suryadi to Adapt Thai Horror Film, Releases Trailer for PERUMAHAN LADDALAND

MD Pictures officially introduces the teaser poster and trailer for their latest horror film titled PERUMAHAN LADDALAND. Manoj Punjabi as the producer announced that the film will greet audiences starting August 13, 2026.

The 53-year-old man expressed great enthusiasm as this project is the first IP adapted from Thailand. Manoj is confident in the film's great potential due to its strong fan base in Indonesia.

"This is the latest adaptation from MD, and like before, we always strive to present the best. The formula is simple, the story is solid," said ManojPunjabi when met at MD Place, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Thursday (11/6/2026).

"First of all, I would like to thank my buddy, Awi. Thank you Wi...always, right? Something that if Awi Suryadi has guaranteed quality, we all know it," he said.

This film tells the story of a terrifying terror in a luxury housing complex that hides dark secrets from its residents. Manoj emphasized that the production team paid special attention to ensure the story's atmosphere remains natural for local audiences.

"There will definitely be questions about what happens if it doesn't match the original film? That's a problem that will certainly arise. But that's the challenge in adaptation," he said.

Awi Suryadi, who was entrusted to direct this film, admitted that he has liked the original version since 2011. The director, born on December 7, 1980, immediately welcomed this offer as a refreshing change amidst his busy schedule.

"When I finally wanted to make Danur, one of the horror films among so many horror films I've watched, one of my favorites is the movie Laddaland, the Thai version of Laddaland," he said.

Titi Kamal also joined the main cast as Astri, who is the mother figure in the family. Christian Sugiono's wife feels very happy to be able to collaborate with MD Entertainment again after such a long time.
