Many Indonesian Directors Make Horror Films, Andibachtiar Yusuf: I, Who Is Handsome, Shouldn't Make One

Kapanlagi.com - Director Andibachtiar Yusuf will start shooting a new film titled THE PARCEL. Interestingly, this will be his debut in directing a horror thriller on the big screen.

Considering that the horror genre is currently in demand, Andibachtiar admits that he feels challenged to execute it. He wants to prove that he can not only be handsome, but also make horror films.

"I just want to make a horror film. I feel challenged because others can do it, so why can't I, who is considered the most handsome? Other directors make horror films, so why can't I?" said Andibachtiar when met in the Kalibata area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (25/7/2023).

1. Ideas From Malaysian Producer

Andi Bachtiar Yusuf explained that the idea for THE PARCEL film came from a Malaysian producer. It was then developed into a screenplay by Andi Bachtiar himself and his colleague Aaron Hart.

"The idea for this film came from one of the producers who is Malaysian. When I first read it, I felt that it lacked local elements, even for Malaysian standards. So, I ended up writing the screenplay together with Aaron, based on the existing foundation," he added.

2. Mysterious Package

THE PARCEL stars Atiqah Hasiholan, Putri Ayudya, and two Malaysian actors, Nora Danish and Amir Ahnaf. The shooting process will begin on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

The film tells the story of Radha, who moves to an apartment with her son. One day, she receives an unclaimed package. When it is opened, terror strikes every resident in the apartment.
