Review of the Movieverse Film YOHANNA

Although packaged in a Catholic context, this film successfully conveys its message in a general sense. The story focuses on a nun who wants to carry out a humanitarian mission in Sumba, but the theft of the aid truck she was carrying leads her to confront the harsh realities of life in Sumba. Yohanna faces tough social realities, including child exploitation in hazardous environments, poverty, and early marriage. The experiences she encounters make her question the true meaning of service and sacrifice.

The film YOHANNA successfully held its premiere on Friday (3/4) at Plaza Indonesia XXI. With a blue-themed dress code, the invited guests, including 15 members of movieverse, attended to witness Yohanna's touching and courageous struggle in her humanitarian mission. The presence of the film's cast, including Laura Basuki, at the red carpet event made the Gala Premiere feel even more special. The attending cast not only greeted the audience directly but also participated in a brief movietalk at the end of the event, which concluded with a group photo.
