The strong chemistry between the cast often becomes the key to a film's success. This is proven by Mawar De Jongh and Rey Bong in their latest film, DAD, WHERE IS IT GOING, HUH?. Both admitted that they had to build a very deep emotional connection to conquer the intense scenes in this film.

Mawar De Jongh, who plays the character Dira, the first child who harbors many feelings, expressed that she feels very lucky to act alongside supportive cast members. There is a special ritual that they always perform before filming emotionally draining scenes. Here are the details.

"So there is indeed one scene that is quite intense and quite long. And it was definitely nerve-wracking when I first read it, I was wondering how it would turn out later," said Mawar when met in the Epicentrum area, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Thursday (2/4/2026).

To overcome nervousness and unify their energy, Mawar and her colleagues always hold hands. This moment becomes their way of strengthening each other and ensuring their acting vision is aligned.

"But thank God I am accompanied by amazing friends, before the take we always hold hands to align our vision, we can definitely do it, and give positive energy to one another," she continued.

A similar sentiment was expressed by Rey Bong, who plays Darin, Dira's younger sister. According to him, the inner connection among the cast, especially with Dwi Sasono and Unique Priscilla who play their parents, is very strong.

Rey Bong even mentioned that they don’t need to say much to build emotion. Just by looking into each other’s eyes and holding hands, all the feelings needed for the scene can be instantly awakened.

"We just need to look into each other’s eyes and hold hands like that. And the most sensitive one is Mama (Unique Priscilla) like that. So Mama really takes care of Darin and Dira, both off set and on set," Rey Bong explained.

DAD, WHERE ARE WE HEADING, HUH? is a family drama film that raises the issue of fatherlessness. It tells the story of Dira and Darin who lose their way after the figure of their father in their lives feels like it has "disappeared". This film is directed by Kuntz Agus and is set to premiere in theaters on April 9, 2026.
