Kapanlagi.com - Titi Kamal has been entrusted with the role of the Fairy Queen in the film Oki & Nirmala produced by Paragon Pictures in collaboration with Ideosource Entertainment. This project is an adaptation from the Fairy Tale Magazine Bobo that has been around since April 14, 1973, and is directed by Hanung Bramantyo.
"Being part of the journey of Oki & Nirmala from this stage feels special for me to be a part of a story that is so beloved across generations," said Titi Kamal.
The role of the Fairy Queen is not new to her. Many years ago, Titi portrayed a similar character on the operetta stage. Now, she brings that character to the big screen alongside a cast from various generations.

Titi Kamal's presence was warmly welcomed by the production team. Her past experience as the Queen of Fairies on stage is one of the reasons she accepted this offer. She mentioned that she starred in the Bobo Operetta in 2003 titled Pika-Pika Puro.
"I was offered by Mr. Robert Ronny at that time because if I'm not mistaken, Mr. Robert Ronny said I had played the Queen of Fairies in the Bobo Operetta back in 2003. Okay, yes, then suddenly I became the Queen of Fairies in Pika-Pika Puro, the name of the Bobo operetta. And when I was invited, I was very excited because it accompanied my childhood with Oki Nirmala," said Titi Kamal when met in South Jakarta on Saturday (22/8).
By taking on a role that resonates with the childhood of many viewers, Titi's involvement is expected to bring a nostalgic atmosphere while also providing a new experience in the feature film format.

Hanung Bramantyo directs this project as a family-friendly fantasy film. He emphasizes that the fantasy genre demands significant technical work and creativity, but has a special place for audiences of all ages.
"This is a fantasy genre, and not many people make fantasy films because the level of complexity is extraordinary. I want to create a film that I can watch with my own family; it's a legacy I want to give to my children," said Hanung Bramantyo.
Oki & Nirmala is rooted in the story of the Land of Fairy Tales from Bobo Magazine, which has been familiar to Indonesian readers since April 14, 1973. Hanung brings that spirit to the screen, maintaining the closeness of the story to today’s family audience.

Producer Andi Boediman highlights the values of brotherhood in the story of Oki and Nirmala that are relevant to be reintroduced. He hopes this film serves as a bridge for the characters and their messages to be accepted by the new generation of viewers.
"Many of us grew up with Oki and Nirmala, two siblings who played together and looked after each other. The story, characters, and these everlasting values should be known more widely by the current generation," said Andi Boediman.
With that foundation, this film is directed as a family viewing experience that emphasizes togetherness while expanding the reach of classic story heritage to a broader audience.
In addition to Titi Kamal as the Queen of Fairies, the cast includes Tissa Biani as Nirmala, Azzamy Syauqi as Oki, and Dea Panendra as Pipiyot. Other notable names joining the cast include Anjasmara, Karina Salim, Indra Birowo, and Kala Madali.
The film's script is written by Utiuts along with Hanung Bramantyo. Paragon Pictures and Ideosource Entertainment officially started this project, with the production process scheduled to begin in early September 2026.
With a story base that is well-known across generations, Titi's return as the Queen of Fairies in the big screen version is expected to provide a nostalgic space for those who grew up with her story, while also offering a new cinematic experience for today's audience.
