COLOMBIANA tells the story of Cataleya Restrepo, whose life is shattered at the age of nine in Bogota, Colombia. She witnesses her parents brutally murdered by the henchmen of a drug lord named Don Luis, acting on the orders of his boss in a criminal network conflict. In a panic, her father hands her a memory card containing important information and the address of her uncle in the United States as a last resort for her safety.
Cataleya manages to escape and arrives in Chicago. There, she is raised by her uncle, Emilio, who then trains her to become a professional assassin. Years pass, and Cataleya grows into a skilled, cold figure focused on one goal: avenging her family's death.
