THE LEGEND OF TARZAN tells the story of John Clayton III, who was once known as Tarzan. He has long left the African jungle and is living a new life with his wife, Jane, in England. As a nobleman, he tries to come to terms with his past as the lord of the jungle.
One day, he receives an invitation to the Congo as a trade envoy for the British Parliament. Unbeknownst to him, this journey is part of Captain Leon Rom's plan, a Belgian officer who wants to capture him. Tarzan is targeted to be exchanged for diamonds to settle a debt with Chief Mbonga.
The situation escalates into a major conflict when Jane is kidnapped to lure Tarzan out of hiding. Amidst the practices of slavery and resource exploitation by the Belgian forces, Tarzan returns to his true identity. Together with George Washington Williams, he leads the resistance to save Jane and protect his homeland.
