Returning to Acting, Song Hye Kyo Plays a Demon-Exorcising Nun in the Film 'DARK NUNS'

After the success of the Korean drama THE GLORY, Song Hye Kyo will return with a film titled DARK NUNS. This film is a spin-off of THE PRIESTS which was released in 2015. This news has been confirmed on Friday, February 16, 2024, by OSEN. The filming itself will begin on February 22.

The sequel to THE PRIESTS (2015) will be written and directed by Jang Jae-Hyun, who is also preparing for the horror film EXHUMA. Previously, THE PRIESTS starred Kim Yoon-seok, Park So-dam, and Kang Dong-won. The film sold more than 5.4 million tickets from 1,109 local cinemas since its release on November 5, 2015.

DARK NUNS will be Song Hye Kyo's first film in the past 9 years after starring in THE CROSSING in 2015. However, despite the long hiatus from the big screen, Song Hye Kyo has starred in several Korean drama series, such as DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN, NOW WE ARE BREAKING UP, ENCOUNTER, and two seasons of THE GLORY which gained global popularity.

In the movie DARK NUNS, Song Hye Kyo will play the role of Junia, who is a nun. Junia has a very diligent character and wants to save the life of a boy who is possessed by demons. Although her efforts are not successful, she does not give up.

Then Jeon Yeo Been will portray Michaela, who is also a nun. Michaela is a nun who has a very curious nature, especially towards Junia. Eventually, Michaela gets caught up in a confusing and chaotic situation and helps Junia.

Lee Jin Wook will play a pastor named Paolo. Besides being a pastor, Paolo is also a psychiatrist who strongly believes that medicine can help the boy possessed by evil spirits. Not only Lee Jin Wook, actor Heo Joon Ho also joins this film as a pastor character named Andrea. Andrea will be a figure who helps in exorcising the demons from the boy's body saved by Junia.

Moon Woo Jin will play the character named Hee Joon, who is the boy possessed by demons in this film.
