Kapanlagi.com - Musician Pradikta Wicaksono, or better known by the name Dikta, officially released his latest work in the form of an Extended Play (EP) titled Unapologetic on Friday, May 15, 2026. The launch of this mini album marks Dikta's return after being inactive from major releases and only releasing one single throughout last year.

This music project becomes a new exploration point that is considered much more personal and bold in his career journey. In the process of making it, Dikta admitted to giving all his abilities and energy to the maximum in order to produce a work that is honest for the listeners.

"I am happy with this new EP. I really gave 100% of what I have for this EP," said Dikta when met in the Blok M area of South Jakarta, Wednesday (13/05/2026).

1. Show Another Side of Dikta

The name Unapologetic was chosen for a reason, as it represents Dikta's condition while working on the EP. The entire creative process was carried out consciously and with full conviction, without any sense of regret, making the title the most fitting to describe the overall energy of this album.

Containing a total of six songs, this EP showcases Dikta's musicality in ways never seen before. In addition to exploring new musical colors, there is one very emotional song dedicated specifically to his late father as an expression of deep longing.

"This is just a longing song for my dad. I want to tell him, 'Dad, everything is okay now. My sister, Salsa, has gotten married, she's been traveling a lot now.' Everything is okay now," he said.

2. Feeling at Peace

Through the song, Dikta wants to imagine that his father is now at peace seeing the condition of his children. He wants to convey that the worries his father once felt are now gone because all family members are in good condition.

"I want to imagine my dad is happy. 'Dad, we are happy now, your children are all okay.' I'm not okay yet, but at least the things Dad used to worry about are no longer there," said Dikta.

Actually, Dikta admits he rarely makes sad songs that show his vulnerability in front of the public. All this time, he prefers to keep his sadness to himself and only show his happy side to others.

3. Final Tribute

"I feel like I've never made a sad song that feels lonely like this. At first, it was like, 'Ah, I regret making this,' because what's the point? I don't like sadness being exposed. My sadness is for me alone; you just see my laughter," Dikta expressed.

However, the desire to give a final tribute through music overcame his ego, even though the recording process of the song was very emotional, causing him to shed tears multiple times.

"The recording process was incredibly tough. Every sentence made me cry, every sentence made me cry. When recording, he (the vocal director) said, 'I shouldn't be crying,' but it really hit hard," he concluded.
