The Malang Police continue to investigate the vandalism of several police posts and police station offices that occurred on Sunday (31/8/2025) early morning. So far, investigators have named 13 individuals as suspects.
The public relations officer of Malang Police, AKP Bambang Subinajar, stated that the suspects come from various regions in Malang Raya, as well as Pasuruan and Blitar. They are charged under Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding violence against property collectively.
“Investigators have completed the files, seized evidence, and conducted a case presentation. The suspects are charged under Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding violence against property collectively,” he said on Wednesday (3/9/2025).
The vandalism occurred at four different locations, namely the Kebonagung Traffic Post (Pakisaji), the Pakisaji Police Station office, the 4-way Intersection Monitoring Post in Kepanjen, and the 12.50 Accident Post of the Traffic Unit on Sumedang Street, Kepanjen. The perpetrators threw paving stones, damaging windows, office equipment, and other public facilities.
Out of 13 suspected perpetrators, one of them, identified as MH (15) from Kepanjen, was not detained. This decision was made after investigators assessed that MH's involvement in the vandalism was not dominant.
“However, case documentation will still be carried out and the individual is required to report regularly,” emphasized Bambang.

The identities of the suspects include SDA (22), RJA (18), and AJ (16) from Wagir District; FPA (15), MAWT (18), MH (15), ME (16), MAS (17), ADS (18), and NIK (15) from Kepanjen District.
Meanwhile, the suspects from outside Malang Regency are MRA (19) from Sutojayan District, Blitar; and MAF (19) and TFMI (19) from Tutur District, Pasuruan.
In addition to arresting the perpetrators, the police also secured evidence in the form of a motorcycle, clothing worn during the incident, paving stones, glass shards, and flags carried by the group.
“The documentation process is ongoing. There are seven case files that we are finalizing to be immediately submitted to the public prosecutor. The Malang Police are committed to handling this case transparently,” he explained.
The Malang Police are committed to taking firm action against any acts of vandalism to maintain a sense of security and conducive conditions in Malang Regency. Police services must continue to operate maximally so that the community feels protected.
