Chandragupta Maurya Series, The Story of a Brave Warrior Comes to Television

Kapanlagi.com - The latest Indian series titled Chandragupta Maurya will be aired on television. The series, starring Faisal Khan, Kartikey Malviy, Saurabh Raj Jain, and Sneha Wagh, will start airing on ANTV on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, every Monday to Sunday at 13:30 WIB.

Chandragupta Maurya tells the story of a brave warrior who realizes his dream of becoming the emperor who unites India.

"In this series, we can see the struggle of a young warrior who is willing to sacrifice for the country. Presented in a massive and colossal way, and filmed in popular locations used during Mahabharata and Ramayana, making this series resemble a Bollywood film," said Gunawan, the Senior Manager of Acquisition & Distribution at ANTV, on Tuesday (15/9/202).

What's interesting is that the soap opera Chandragupta Maurya was produced and directed by Siddharth Kumar Tewary, a famous director in India. During its run in India, Chandragupta Maurya aired for 208 episodes and completed its broadcast from November 2018 to August 2019.

"We hope that the series Chandragupta Maurya will be successful in receiving positive responses from viewers, just like when the Mahabharata series aired in Indonesia and India," said Gunawan.

2. Synopsis of Chandragupta Maurya

This series tells the story of Chandragupta, who is searching for his biological mother. Chandragupta is also the grandfather of Ashoka and the eternal lover of Nandini from the Chandra Nandini story. The story begins when Chanakya (Tarun Khanna) arrives in Magadha, which is ruled by King Dhana Nanda (Saurabh Raj Jain), who is unfair and cruel.

Chanakya asks for his help in overthrowing the Greeks from India, but Dhana Nanda instead humiliates Chanakya in the palace. Chanakya vows to remove him from the throne and put a good ruler in Magadha.

As his journey continues, Chanakya meets Chandragupta (Kartikey Malviya), who is a slave and it turns out his father is Chandravardhan, a king from the Kingdom of Piplivan, but the kingdom was destroyed and Chandravardhan was killed by Dhana Nanda.

3. The Love Story of Chandragupta and Durdhara

Chandragupta, a young prince who was sold as a slave, and his mother Moora (Sneha Wagh), were captured by Dhana Nanda. Chanakya trained Chandragupta and recognized him as someone who would become the ruler of Magadha, responsible for bringing about change in India.

Five years later, Chandragupta (Faisal Khan) and Chanakya find Malayketu, the lost son of Porus, and declare him as the king of Paurava. Therefore, Chandra receives help from the Paurava army, as well as Takshashila, which has no king.

Chandragupta and Durdhara (Pranali Ghoghare), the sister of Dhana Nanda, fall in love with each other. They eventually get married and have a child named Bindusara. Chandragupta and the army of Dhana Nanda engage in battle, resulting in many casualties on both sides.
