His Films Failed Several Times, Shahrukh Khan Cried for Days in the Bathroom to Release His Disappointment

Shahrukh Khan, known as the Badshaah of Bollywood, may be one of the last superstars of his generation. However, despite reaching the peak of success, he has also experienced failure. Before becoming the savior of Bollywood post-pandemic with the film Pathaan, SRK faced several films that did not succeed at the box office.

At an event at the Global Freight Summit in Dubai, SRK was asked how he deals with failure and whether he often criticizes himself after a film fails. SRK revealed that he deeply hates that feeling of failure. In fact, he often cries alone in the bathroom without telling anyone.

He explained, "When you fail, don't immediately believe that your product, service, or work is wrong. It may just be that you misunderstood the ecosystem you are in. You need to understand how people are responding to it." According to SRK, if a film or project does not succeed, it does not mean the world is conspiring against us, but rather there may be something wrong in the way we are conveying it.

SRK also added, "If I can't evoke emotions from the audience, then my product, no matter how great, will still not succeed." This means that as a filmmaker or artist, it is important to be able to touch the hearts of the audience so that the work can be well received.

Although the feeling of failure is very heavy, SRK suggests not to dwell too much in sadness. "I hate feeling like this. But I cried a lot in the bathroom, and I didn't show that to anyone," he revealed. He prefers to embrace that feeling alone and then move on.

According to him, one of the keys to rising from failure is to believe that the world is not against us. "Your film does not fail because of you or because the world is conspiring against you. You have to accept that maybe you did it the wrong way," said SRK.

SRK suggests that one must be able to accept that failure, then learn from that experience and move forward. "After that, you have to move on," he added. With a strong mentality, we can face failure and continue to strive to be better in the future.

In 2023, after a series of failures in the past, SRK finally returned to glory with three consecutive major hits, namely Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. In 2024, he decided to take a little break. However, SRK has confirmed that he will return to the big screen with the film King, which reportedly will also feature his daughter, Suhana Khan, who will make her film debut.
