Sonakshi Sinha Closes Twitter Account, Unable to Handle Criticism for Being Accused of Nepotism After Sushant Singh Rajput's Death

For days, Sonakshi was bombarded with various negative comments, especially on Twitter. She finally got fed up and decided to permanently close her Twitter account.

After closing her Twitter account, Sonakshi explained her reasons on Instagram. She posted a long caption on her @aslisona account, directed towards her haters.

1. Off Twitter

"I have quit Twitter and distanced myself from all the negativity there. Some people celebrate this as if they have won a competition. I am happy for you. Let it be, no one will notice any difference," wrote Sonakshi.

"But let's face it, I have cut off direct connections from insults and curses in my life. I have taken away all the power YOU have to say whatever you want to me, my family, and my friends. I have taken away all the access you have to me, which I had given with trust. So now there is only one winner. Me," she continued.

2. Get Rid of Haters

Sonakshi then explained that she chose to delete her Twitter account because it was better for her. She also hoped that the haters would find happiness and stop hating people in such a way.

"The negativity from you does not affect me or my life. That's why I simply flicked off 16 million people that I had gathered over the past 10 years. That's it. And I am better because of it. I hope all the haters can receive more love and heal, or you can continue with your hatred, but you should know that the hatred never reaches me," wrote the DABANGG film star.

3. Better

Without negative comments from Twitter, Sonakshi feels that her life has become better. She advises everyone to use social media wisely and spread more love to everyone.

"I hope everyone knows that it is your love that has kept me going until now. Keep spreading love and positive energy," said the daughter of actor Shatrughan Sinha.

4. Accused of Nepotism

Sonakshi's feud with netizens on Twitter began with the case of Sushant's death, which was believed to be a victim of nepotism in Bollywood. Sonakshi, who is the daughter of an old actor and made her debut with Salman Khan, was accused of being one of the main causes of rampant nepotism in the Indian film industry.

Although she didn't respond much to the comments from netizens, negative attacks continued to be launched against Sonakshi. Finally, on Saturday, (20/6), the 33-year-old actress decided to close her Twitter account.
