Young designer Migi Rihasalay introduces his latest work at the Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2024 held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (27/3/2024).
"Yes, I released my latest collection and introduced it at the grand event of IFW 2024, which is my first time participating, featuring 12 collections with the theme of Black Rose," said Migi Rihasalay after the fashion show at Plenary Hall JCC on Wednesday night (27/3/2024).

Migi continues by explaining that the theme is inspired by the story of a rose, where roses symbolize elegance, love, and even sadness or separation.
"Everyone always uses roses. Because every color has a meaning, and when the rose turns black it is in darkness. So the meaning of this black rose is interpreted as a darkness that has power, a woman who cannot be exposed keeps all kinds of stories," said Migi, who was inspired by the story 'The Dark Night Life' for this collection.
With only 3 weeks of preparation, Migi used a basic red material technique sprayed with gradient black color to adjust his black rose flowers by displaying 15 thousand petals.
Migi also hopes to continue releasing collections in the future that are even better and inspiring with more difficult techniques based on other stories.
Just to let you know, the biggest fashion week in Indonesia, IFW 2024, officially takes place at Jakarta JCC) today, Wednesday (27/3/2024).
This year, IFW carries the theme 'Langgam Jakarta Teranyam'. Through this theme, the Association of Indonesian Fashion Designers and Entrepreneurs (APPMI) aims to highlight the diversity of Betawi culture in the charm of contemporary art and fashion.
This is in line with APPMI's 'goal' in organizing IFW every year. It is to provide the largest possible space for Indonesian textiles to exist in Indonesia and in the eyes of the world.
"We want to elevate Indonesian textiles to a higher level. So, whatever is trending in the world," said the Chairman of APPMI and President of IFW, Poppy Dharsono.
"We observe, then modify by adding a touch of Indonesian heritage as Nusantara textile," he continued
A total of 300 designers are ready to showcase their latest collections on the IFW runway, which will be held for five days, from March 27th to March 31st, 2024. Not only that, there will be 400 exhibitors, trunk shows, and talk shows. Â
