After cleaning Baby Izz's feet, Nikita also guided her son to step on 'jadah' (a container with 7 colors). Jadah itself is made from sticky rice mixed with grated young coconut. The 7 colors of jadah are considered to represent various obstacles, challenges, and choices that the child will face in the future.
The next procession is the moment when Nikita Willy holds her son to climb the stairs made of 'tebu wulung' (a type of sugarcane).
After descending from the sugarcane stairs, Baby Izz is also invited to walk on sand. This stage is commonly known as 'ceker-ceker'.
The next stage that must be done in this Tedak Siten event is to put Baby Izz into a cage. It is filled with various toys that symbolize the child's future profession or occupation.
After that, the family will spread money (undhik-undhik), clean Baby Izz with water and dress him in clean clothes as the final process of Tedak Siten. For those of you who don't know, Tedak Siten is a Javanese tradition when a child has set foot on the ground, where it is hoped by the parents that the child can be ready and successful in facing life in the future.
