In 2016, there was a rumor circulating about Celine Evangelista allegedly marrying someone of the same sex, a woman who was suspected to be her partner in America in 2015.
This is because there was a video circulating that resembled a wedding ceremony involving Celine Evangelista and her alleged same-sex partner.
On her Instagram account, Celine also posted a photo of herself wearing the same dress as in the circulating video, complete with carrying a bouquet of flowers.
There is also a certificate circulating on the internet that is believed to be proof of Celine Evangelista's same-sex marriage.
In 2015, there was indeed a post of Celine going to Las Vegas. However, it is unknown whether the circulating video was taken at the same time or not.
After this news circulated, Celine denied the rumors. "I'm not a lesbian. It (the certificate) is not a big deal, not something sacred, just a joke," said Celine when met during the filming of the TV series HOUSEHOLD ASSISTANT Season 2, in Kota Wisata, Friday night (22/07/2016).
Celine herself stated that she does know the person suspected to be her same-sex partner. Celine admitted that the woman with a tomboy appearance is her friend.
On the other hand, the woman suspected to be Celine's same-sex partner is believed to be a businesswoman and known as a former artist manager. When asked for a statement, she gave a vague answer. She neither denied nor confirmed the circulating rumors.

Not only that, Vincentia Nurul, who is Celine's biological mother, also confirmed that her daughter married someone of the same gender. This mother of Celine praised her daughter's same-sex partner. "My daughter-in-law pays attention to my grandchild's needs. Celine and her child are taken care of. With (her same-sex partner), Celine becomes even better, in terms of her speech and way of thinking," she explained at that time.
