Kriss Hatta openly announced that he has returned to embracing Christianity. It is known that previously, Kriss Hatta converted after marrying Hilda Vitria in 2015.
It is known that Kriss Hatta embraced Christianity in 2019 when he was still in Cipinang Detention Center for assault cases.
"But what I have been hiding since October 2019. So when I haven't returned (from Cipinang detention center) I have already converted. From my heart, in 2020 I hid my worship. Only this year, in 2021, on Christmas day, I have to tell the public," said Kriss Hatta in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Saturday (25/12/2021).
Kriss Hatta is well aware that his conversion will be criticized by netizens, as he is accused of playing with religion. In fact, Kriss Hatta had many considerations before embracing Christianity again.
"Enough already. The consequences are like that. They will definitely say that I'm playing with religion, using religion as a toy," he said.
"I'm being accused of playing with religion, right? What is it that religion is a game, but well. It seems that people are starting to understand now, if I get close to a woman, I ask her what her religion is, if she's Muslim, I won't pursue it," Kriss Hatta continued.
