Mother and both siblings Vadel Badjideh came to visit in detention during Eid, Monday (31/03/2025). Although it feels different from previous years, this Eid moment became an unforgettable one for the Vadel family.

"There are lessons to be learned. In previous years, we never lost a family member (during Eid) always gathered. But this Eid moment will not be forgotten. If I can say this month of fasting feels empty, like something is missing. Especially during last night's takbir, it felt very intense, overwhelming. You can't deny it, no matter how strong you try to be," said Martin, Vadel Badjideh's brother.

Martin, Bintang, and Titin spent their visit time exchanging stories during the fasting month while eating ketupat, opor, and rendang, together with Vadel.

It is said that Vadel, who really loves his mother's chicken opor, devoured the special Eid dish prepared just for him.

Even, Vadel's spoiled side came out when the family came to visit, where his mother cut the ketupat and asked about the chicken pieces he wanted, just like at home.

Even though far from home on the holiday, the family tried to keep the atmosphere warm and always entertained Vadel so he wouldn't sink into sadness.

Especially since Vadel, who is known to be very close to his niece or the children of his older brother, is always awaited for his return.

"Yes, during the moments of the takbiran night, Vadel was really close to my children. They asked, 'Why hasn't brother Vadel come home?' That's about all we like to emphasize," said Martin.

Besides the family gathering moments in detention, the family admitted they were touched when hearing Vadel's story who shared his experiences with fellow inmates during the takbiran night.
