7 Moments Judika Takes His Family on Vacation to Lombok and Bandung, Prioritizing Time Together with the Kids

"When I’m with my wife, every school holiday for the kids we always prepare well in advance to not take on work, we go on vacation, like that," he said when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, on Monday (7/4/2025).

For the father of three children, family has always been the top priority amidst the busyness of work. He has even planned time off well in advance to enjoy moments with loved ones. Judika also explained the reason for choosing Bandung and Lombok as this year's holiday destinations.

"Since we are already used to going to Bali, we actually want to stay within the country. So in Bandung, it's clear, I just had a baby too, just 4 months old, so I want to get that fresh air away from the crowds..." he said.

Judika mentioned that the main reason for choosing a place in the middle of the forest is to ensure that his third child, Juandeo Volante Sihotang, who is still a baby, is not disturbed by noise. In addition, clean air and a natural atmosphere can provide health benefits for the entire family. "So we wanted to go to Bandung indeed in the forest, the hotel is in the forest, right in the middle of the forest," he said.

Even though he brought along his four-month-old baby, Judika actually felt happy with the new experience he gained. He admitted that it felt like learning to take care of a baby again after nine years since his last child was born. "Yeah, that's it. After 9 years without having a child, taking care of one from infancy again. It's like learning all over again," said Judika.

Juandeo's condition, weighing 8.8 kilograms, makes carrying him feel like a workout in itself. Fortunately, his wife, Duma Riris, is still exclusively breastfeeding, so all the baby's needs can be met. "So, it's actually a bit more tiring for the mom, but the dad is just on standby to help out," he said.

Judika also explained the reason for choosing a location in the forest, not just for the fresh air but also because of Jakarta's increasingly crowded condition and the lack of open spaces for children to play. "It's more about this, because we know Jakarta's pollution is quite high," he explained.
