The return of Okie Agustina to the entertainment world was not a decision made in a short time. She stated that offers to act in soap operas had been coming for a long time, even while she was still focused on managing her household.
However, she now feels it is the right time to return because her children have become more independent. She explained that her children, like Nasya and Miro, now have their own activities and often spend time with their father.
"Offers have been coming for a long time, many have offered but Icha didn't allow it. There have been many offers, so I just stayed at home, watching the younger ones grow up, Nasya often goes to her father's house, Miro is also often taken by his dad," said Okie Agustina when met in the Hang Tuah area, South Jakarta, Monday (7/4/2025).
After 12 years away from the acting world, Okie admits she had to readapt to the shooting work rhythm. She says the most noticeable adjustment is actually physical, not just about acting.
"Of course, there needs to be an adjustment, from the last stripping age of 28, now at what age, the adjustment is more about the body," said Okie.
The competition in the entertainment industry is now even tougher, but Okie has her own perspective on that. She says she is not competing with young artists, but rather with actresses her age. "Yes, my competitors are the moms, not the young ones," she said.
One of the important preparations for her comeback is losing weight to appear more proportional on camera. She says that appearing on screen makes someone look five kilos heavier, so appearance must be maintained. "Yes, that's definitely it, why I pursue treatments because on TV screens we look 5 kilos bigger," she explained.
However, the process of losing weight is not easy for Okie. She admits to having difficulty maintaining her ideal weight even though she exercises regularly. "Losing weight is so hard, gaining it back is so easy," she said.
"Yesterday I was at a proportional 55, now I’m at 57 kg, and during Eid I gained more," she added. To maintain her fitness, Okie regularly attends various exercise classes to keep her body fit. She explained that yoga and Zumba have become her main choices in recent times. "Definitely exercising, like yoga, Zumba," she concluded. /far
