The feud in the divorce process between Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven continues to unfold. This time, the issue regarding Paula's difficulty in meeting the children who are in Baim's custody has surfaced publicly. Fahmi Bachmid, Baim Wong's legal counsel, has firmly responded to these allegations.

Fahmi stated that the allegation claiming Paula has difficulty meeting the children is not true. According to him, the children are not objects that can be forced to do something against their will.

Fahmi Bachmid, the attorney for Baim Wong, stated that the allegations claiming Paula has difficulty meeting the children are incorrect. "It's not difficult if the child doesn’t want to; should the child be forced?" Fahmi said when met at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Tuesday (4/2/2025).

Fahmi added that the mindset that views children as objects is wrong. Children, according to him, are subjects who have the right to decide. Therefore, forcing them would only have a negative impact on the children's psychological condition.

"If children are treated as objects, this is what happens. This way of thinking is wrong; children are not objects, they are subjects," Fahmi emphasized.

Baim's attorney also emphasized that Baim's home is always open for Paula to meet her children. He even requested that Paula come along with her attorney to avoid any misinformation.

"It's open 24 hours, feel free to come. And I ask you to come not alone, bring your lawyer so that there won’t be any more stories about being complicated in every way," Fahmi explained.

Furthermore, Fahmi revealed that Baim has been trying to facilitate meetings between the children and Paula. However, the children often choose to return to Baim. In fact, there was an attempt to take the children to Paula, but the result remained the same.

"Even Baim has made efforts to bring the child, but the child does not want to, there is a video of it. Baim took both of them, after that the child did not want to. They went back to Baim, cried again, even at school they cried again," Fahmi said.

According to Fahmi, forcing children to follow the desires of adults will only make them victims. He urged all parties to prioritize the interests of children over personal ego. "It's sad that the child becomes a victim because they are forced. They should be coaxed in a way that softens the child's heart, so they are not traumatized and so on," he added.
