When met by the media at Senayan Park, Central Jakarta on October 12, 2023. Brisia Jodie openly shared her experience of a toxic relationship. 

During those difficult times, Brisia Jodie also experienced treatment that demeaned her dignity. She was often belittled and insulted by her ex-boyfriend. In fact, physical violence also became a reality she had faced.

"Being belittled is normal, being called names like that, even physical abuse has happened. So, sometimes we think if we are the ones at fault, if we are the ones who are wrong, that's what's wrong, we shouldn't be like that. It's terrible," she said.

"Being belittled, being told hurtful things, even acts of violence have occurred. So, sometimes we start to doubt ourselves, thinking if we are the ones at fault, or if we are the ones who are unworthy. This is wrong, we should not experience such things," she said.

However, now Brisia Jodie has successfully escaped from that toxic relationship and feels happy. Most importantly, she is no longer burdened by those bitter memories.

"No, I don't think about it anymore because now I am really happy. So I can really feel it from my toxic experiences. So I feel like, oh, it turns out that if I get out of that toxic relationship, there are still good people," she said.

"Because when you're in a toxic relationship, you think everyone is like your partner. Surely, if I go out with someone else or date someone else, it will also be toxic, that's what makes us stuck in a toxic relationship," she concluded.
