8 Photos of Marcella Zalianty Who Always Brings Her Own Cutlery, Campaigns Against Plastic - Used to It Since Childhood

Marcella Zalianty has a unique habit when traveling, which is bringing her own cutlery. The 45-year-old woman admits she has been doing this since childhood. Marcella shares the reason behind this habit.

"Oh yes, that's for sure. Because my child always teases, my mother is OCD. I've really been like this since a long time ago," she said with a laugh when met in the Jati Padang area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (11/3/2025). Here are the details.

According to her, this habit is not just about hygiene, but also part of the long-standing anti-plastic campaign she has been advocating.

The older sister of Olivia Zalianty revealed that the habit of bringing her own utensils has been ingrained since childhood. She stated that this habit started from her mother's influence. "For a long time, as my mother says, I've been using my own spoons since I was little and it has continued until now," she said.

Marcella explained that she always brings utensils like spoons, a water bottle, and sometimes even non-plastic plates. "I always bring my own utensils, bring a water bottle because I don't like plastic," she said.

Ananda Mikola's wife emphasizes that her habits are also driven by her desire to reduce plastic use. For her, bringing her own supplies is a small step that can have a big impact on the environment. "I have always been someone who campaigns against plastic because everything I bring does not include plastic," she asserted.

Even when traveling, Marcella still brings supporting items such as a sterilizing spray, blankets, and towels. She feels this is part of the "core packaging" that must be taken along.

Although she is often teased by her children because of this habit, the mother of two does not mind. For her, bringing her own supplies is a form of responsibility towards health and the environment.

"Sometimes I even bring my own non-plastic plates to locations, but it's not possible to bring plates everywhere. At the very least, I bring a spoon, a sterilizing spray, maybe a blanket, a towel," she explained.

For Marcella, this habit is not just a lifestyle choice, but also a form of consistency with the principles she has held since childhood.
