In her post, Vebby Palwinta expressed gratitude for being able to hold a simple aqiqah ceremony while also strengthening family ties.
"Alhamdulillah omar has performed his akikah and yesterday we also had a small thanksgiving event and family gathering," wrote Vebby Palwinta in the caption of her upload on Tuesday (11/04).
Akikah is a tradition of slaughtering a goat or livestock during the ceremony of cutting a baby's hair in Islam. The Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI) explains that aqiqah is the same as akikah in Indonesian language.
Aqiqah is a sunnah for parents, if performed, they will receive rewards and if not performed, they will not receive any sins.
There are several traditions and opinions of scholars that recommend performing aqiqah for baby boys by slaughtering two goats, while for baby girls, one goat should be slaughtered.
Baby Omar was born through normal delivery. During the first child's delivery, a female, Vebby Palwinta used the caesarean method.
Vebby Palwinta and Razi Bawazier hope that their child will have wise and leadership qualities according to the meaning of the name they have given.
“We hope that Omar can be an intercessor for his family in the future, becoming a wise and family leader,” said Razi Bawazier, confirmed by Vebby Palwinta.
