8 Portraits of Fairuz A Rafiq's Children Receiving THR, Their Money Saved for Hajj and Sacrifice - Making Their Parents Touched and Proud

Fairuz A Rafiq feels proud to see his children starting to understand the meaning of sharing from an early age. He shares how they have the habit of setting aside money for things that hold religious value, such as sacrifices and going on pilgrimage. This habit developed because they often see how their parents share with others.

"But he also wants to share like that. It's okay. And yesterday there was some received, right? Before Eid, they already received, right? This THR was given early because they wanted to go home. Then yesterday, coincidentally, while studying," said Fairuz. Here are the details.

During the month of Ramadan, Fairuz and her children often memorize together. This moment becomes an opportunity for them to learn many things, including the importance of saving for bigger goals.

"Yesterday happened to be the time for reciting, right? During Ramadan, we recite together, always together, and receive blessings," said Fairuz.

Fairuz was even more touched by her children's attitude when they wrote down their intentions for the money they received. For example, Faaz wrote that his holiday money would be used for going on pilgrimage. Meanwhile, his younger brother, Eijaz, wrote that his money would be set aside for sacrificing.

"They are starting to understand their individual desires. One of them suddenly had Faaz's envelope labeled 'for pilgrimage'. Eijaz's brother had it labeled 'for sacrificing'. All of this is because they are used to being involved and shown what their parents do, so they are starting to get accustomed and willing," explained Fairuz.

Seeing this, Fairuz is increasingly convinced that providing real examples to children is the best way to educate them. He believes that children will follow what they often see in their daily lives.

"That's why I'm very happy, one day I hope to have the opportunity to directly engage with children. Because so far what we've been doing is sharing iftar snacks on the street for the delivery riders who work on the road delivering food but they themselves don't have food and drinks," he added.

According to Fairuz, the habit of sharing must be instilled from an early age so that it becomes part of the children's character. He hopes that in the future, his children will grow up to be caring individuals who are not hesitant to help others.

"I want children to not only know about giving, but also to feel for themselves what it is like to share. This way, they will grow with a more sensitive heart and full of empathy," she said.
