Becoming a mother is not an easy task for Ussy Sulistiawaty. She had to learn to play a new role when she officially became a wife and a mother.
When met in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, on Monday afternoon (10/6), the wife of Andhika Pratama shared her journey. She revealed that she couldn't cook at all before getting married and only watched her mother.
As time went by, she realized that she had to learn such skills as soon as possible. She believed that the best teacher to learn from was her own parents.Â
"So actually, I can't cook at all, but when you get married, you have to (be able to) cook," said Ussy Sulistiawaty.
"In my opinion, the best teacher is our own parents," she added.
When asked further, Ussy explained why cooking for her family is very important. The variety of dishes will have a positive effect on family members, so that the longing for home-cooked meals always arises in their minds.
"I have five children with different tastes, so at home, there must be various menus, they also want different things," she said.
Not only that, this 43-year-old woman also believes that cooking can be a spiritual bond for family members. In fact, she believes that cooking can also be a means of maintaining relationships with loved ones.
"For example, it can strengthen the bond between husband and children. For instance, when a husband and wife argue, cooking can be a way to reconcile, especially when the food is fed to each other," she explained.
"Cooking can also strengthen the bond within the family and even with friends, it can be a means of maintaining relationships," she added.
Until now, the installment has been overdue for four months.
