Climbing and reaching the summit of Mount Rinjani has been Valerie's dream for 7 years. Rinjani is indeed the 3rd highest mountain in Indonesia.
No wonder that a long struggle must be endured to reach the summit. "Even though I have been training little by little, I still became a slow climber. In every difficult step, all I could do was encourage myself with motivational words, sing in my heart, and even continue to recite prayers," Valerie wrote.
"Throughout the climb, I witnessed people giving up halfway, not to mention those who reached the summit first and said the journey was still far," she continued.
"But the main thing is, if we have a goal, just focus on ourselves. No need to look at others who are faster or slower, no need to listen to negative words from others, but take in positive energy," Valerie added.
Finally, the 6-hour journey from Camp Pelawangan Sembalun ended at the summit. In addition to reaching the summit, Valerie also had the opportunity to soak in hot springs.
Unfortunately, the enjoyment of soaking in hot springs had to be interrupted because someone defecated. Valerie herself had taken a beautiful photo in the hot springs with the waterfall.
Furthermore, Valerie also revealed how this climb taught her many things, one of which is teamwork.
"I learned a lot of things, one of which is that if you want to achieve your dreams, you can't do it alone, you need a team, a circle, and mentors to guide you," she concluded.
