As a mother, Ria Ricis wants her only daughter to grow up with the habit of being able to do anything on her own. The wife of Teuku Ryan admitted to adopting the strict parenting style of her parents and older siblings.

"I actually come from strict parents. That's what I have been applying to Moana until now. I try to teach Moana that being a child, especially a girl, means being truly independent," said Ria Ricis.

“Moana often falls and only her mother knows how much pain she feels,” she said.
“That's how she can still survive and get up by herself. Even continue running with her, people might see her child fall but they just ignore it,” she added.
Ria Ricis admits that she intentionally did not immediately help her daughter to wake up, but let her wake up on her own. She believes that this habit will also influence the formation of Moana's character in the future, so that she grows into an independent person.
“So that's the reason why I always let Moana stand on her own feet first, so she can experience what it feels like to be independent from an early age, how she knows her position and how far she can strive,” she concluded.
