Accused of Asking for Rp 10 Billion, Adam Deni Reports Jerinx SID's Lawyer

Kapanlagi.com - The legal case of Jerinx SID continues. And last November 2021, the drummer of Superman Is Dead was temporarily detained for 20 days at the Polda Metro Jaya detention center while waiting for the first trial of the defamation case committed by Jerinx against Adam Deni. 

However, not only Jerinx, but the lawyer of the artist, Sugeng Teguh Santoso, was also reported by Adam Deni. Adam Deni reported Jerinx's lawyer on allegations that they demanded Rp 10 billion from Jerinx for this case. 

Adam Deni, represented by his lawyer, Machi Achmad, said that Jerinx's lawyer violated Article 310 regarding defamation and insult. 

"Article 310 and 311 of the Indonesian Penal Code regarding insult and defamation. Article 27 paragraph 3 refers to the ITE Law, which states that anyone who intentionally transmits and makes easily accessible electronic information containing defamation and defamation of character is subject to a punishment of 4 years in prison and a fine of 750 million," said Machi Achmad when met at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/12/2021).

Machi explained that during the mediation, Adam Deni's party did not ask for Rp 10 billion. He himself was surprised by Jerinx's lawyer's statement about it. 

"Yes, he said it in the media as if my client requested a quote for a settlement and then asked for Rp 10 billion from Jrx, but during the first and second mediation meetings, this defendant did not ask for it. It is worth questioning where he got those stories from," said Machi.

As the person involved, Adam Deni himself is surprised by the statements made by Jerinx's lawyer. Even when he was interviewed by journalists, he always tried to give calming statements. 

"I am also surprised when this case has been declared P-21 and J has been officially detained and placed in the Metro Police detention center, why are there heated issues raised by J's side? Honestly, in any media interview, I always give calming statements. I never said I was satisfied with J's detention," said Adam Deni.

On the other hand, Bima Suprayoga, the prosecutor from the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office, stated that all of Jerinx's files from the Metro Jaya Regional Police investigators have been submitted to the District Attorney's Office.

Bima said that Jerinx violated Article 27 paragraph 4 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 4 or Article 29 in conjunction with the Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning electronic information and transactions or the ITE Law. Due to this violation, Jerinx faces a prison sentence of up to 6 years.

"The prosecutor is examining objective reasons, including the 6-year threat, so it is possible to detain him. It involves both subjective and objective reasons," said Bima Suprayoga.

4. Can Be Accepted Well

As the reporter, Adam Deni hopes that Jerinx's current case can be resolved peacefully. Moreover, Jerinx is already detained at the Metro Jaya Regional Police.

"My hope is that this case can be resolved peacefully and accepted by various parties, and Jerinx himself must also accept the consequences. But I also have a message for Jerinx, later," he said.

"Hopefully, this can serve as a deterrent for Jerinx and he can change himself for the better, not randomly threatening people, not belittling people, especially challenging the legal system like what Jerinx did to me," he concluded.
