Adam Deni Detained, Jerinx Hopes the Prosecutor and Judge Can Lighten His Sentence

Kapanlagi.com - The trial of the alleged threat with the defendant I Gede Ari Astina alias Jerinx SID was held again on Wednesday (16/2/2022). The agenda of the trial was supposed to hear the demands from the Public Prosecutor (JPU). However, because they were not ready, the new demand material will be read on Friday (18/2/2022).

Wayan Gendo, as Jerinx's legal counsel, sees this demand postponement as something positive. It means the Prosecutor has additional time to review the case fairly so that the punishment can be lighter.

"The hope is, of course, that this postponement becomes a time for the Prosecutor's office to think not to demand heavy punishment for Jerinx. It is also possible that he will be released," said Wayan Gendo after the trial at the Central Jakarta District Court.

1. Detention Becomes Consideration

In line with his legal counsel, Jerinx hopes to receive a light sentence. Especially now that Adam Deni, the person who reported him, is also facing a case.

"Hopefully, with this additional time, the Prosecutor's Office can see from a different perspective. So that they can make a wiser, fairer decision. Because the person who reported me is now clearly detained. Hopefully, this can be taken into consideration," Jerinx hoped on the same occasion.

2. Becoming a Knight

Whatever the demands of the Public Prosecutor, Jerinx will accept the final outcome with an open heart. That is because he was taught to become a knight who will not be defeated by circumstances.

"Whether I like it or not, I have to be ready. Because in Bali, I was taught to become a knight," said Nora Alexandra's husband.

"Jerinx has no other choice but to prepare himself," said Wayan Gendo firmly.

3. Two Sides of Character

From one trial to another between Jerinx and Adam Deni, the striking difference between the two characters can be seen. Wayan Gendo also hopes that this fact can be seen by the prosecutor and the judges in order to decide on his client's case.

"This trial can show two sides of character. Jerinx, who appears as a knight even though he has apologized to Adam Deni but was not forgiven, still appears responsibly. We also find Adam Deni's character that we witnessed in the trial as a liar, which we are considering reporting for giving false testimony under oath," said Gendo.

4. Another Motive

Wayan Gendo sees the case brought by Adam Deni to the legal realm as nothing more than a drama and should be ended immediately. Because he suspects there is another motive behind everything that has happened.

"Justice can be seen from the character of the defendant and the accuser. Because the accuser is disreputable, it should be taken into consideration by the prosecutor and the judges. This report is not purely because he is a victim, but there are other motives that can be seen as a drama case. The accuser may gain benefits from it. So, hopefully, this drama can be resolved. Jerinx can get justice," Gendo concluded.

5. The Beginning of the Problem

The problem between Jerinx and Adam Deni began when the social media activist responded to Jerinx's post on Instagram. Adam is known to have asked for evidence of a list of artists who received endorsements to admit to having COVID-19. Unfortunately, Jerinx responded rudely.

Shortly after, Jerinx's Instagram account disappeared and the Superman Is Dead member accused Adam Deni of being behind it all. Jerinx had communicated with Adam using harsh words. The recording of their conversation became the basis for Adam to bring a case of alleged threats to the legal realm.

Jerinx is charged with violating Article 29 in conjunction with Article 45B of the ITE Law, as well as Article 27 Paragraph (4) in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph (4) of the Indonesian Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to the Indonesian Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE. Nora Alexandra's husband faces a possible six-year prison sentence.
