Betharia Sonata and Willy Dozan visited their son, Leon Dozan, who was arrested by the police and declared a suspect in a case of alleged assault against his girlfriend, Rinoa Aurora Senduk.
On that occasion, Betharia Sonata couldn't stop crying when asked for a response about her son's case.
"(Leon) A loyal child, a sweet child. When he truly loves, that's all that matters," said Betharia Sonata while crying when met at the Central Jakarta Metro Police Station on Friday (17/11/2023).
According to Betharia Sonata, she was shocked that her child could be involved in a case of alleged assault against a woman.
"I was shocked to see this incident and how he could end up in this situation," said Betharia Sonata.
Still crying, Betharia said that before her son was apprehended by the police at their home, she tried to calm Leon Dozan down and encourage him to cooperate and accept the trial willingly.
"I tried to calm him down and advise him to accept this challenge in life willingly. Dare to act, dare to take responsibility," she said stutteringly.
"That's why I cooperate with the police when I meet them, I'm calm, I've told my child to take responsibility," he continued.
According to the singer of 'Hati Yang Luka', initially Leon Dozan was shocked because his girlfriend chose the legal route to resolve the issue. Leon, said Betharia, was scared.
"He was shocked, he had imagined how things would be. I tried to advise him to accept it sincerely, to be a gentleman to come here. Thank God the police officers here are kind," said Betharia.
However, she admitted that as a mother, she was very sad about what happened to her only child.
"What makes me sad, oh Allah, is this is her life path. She is actually a sweet child," she said tearfully.
