Advancing to Become a Prospective Candidate for the 2024 Election, Ucok Baba Wants to Fight for Disability Equality: Who Else Will Fight If Not Me

Kapanlagi.com - Comedian Ucok Baba has decided to run as a prospective legislative candidate (caleg) in the 2024 election. One of the reasons the father of five children entered the world of politics is the support from his friends to fight for equality for citizens with disabilities.

"I'm actually not interested, but I was asked to become a candidate, so that my friends with disabilities can be fought for," said Ucok Baba when met in the Kapten Tendean Street area, Mampang, South Jakarta, recently.

Because of his intention, Ucok Baba was invited to the building of the Indonesian Parliament (DPR) to convey his vision and mission if elected as a member of the DPR in the 2024 election.

"I tell everything, I speak loudly there. I challenge everyone there that this is a candidate who truly brings a vision and mission to fight for friends with disabilities," said Ucok Baba.

The man, who is 91 cm tall, feels that people with disabilities have not been given the opportunity to sit as representatives of the people. That's why he wants Indonesia to be like other countries where people with disabilities can become members of the Parliament.

"There must be equality in Indonesia, we are all Indonesians, why not this (equality)?
This will be a record," said Ucok Baba.

"Because there is no equality in Indonesia, it already exists in other countries. Who else will fight for it if not me?" continued Ucok Baba.

The step taken by the man with the real name Adamayansyah Batubara to enter the world of politics is also supported by his wife, Rina Angelina, and their children. His family only reminds him of one thing.

"But don't get too involved because you know politics, right?" Ucok Baba concluded with a smile.
