Kartika Putri is back in the spotlight after being out of public view for a long time. This time, her appearance feels different because she had previously chosen to disappear from the public eye since wearing the hijab.
She appeared on the HIKMAH ROMADHON podcast that was broadcast through her personal YouTube channel. There, she casually talked about her life journey so far.
Kartika Putri explained that her decision to disappear was not without reason. She wanted to focus on enjoying the process of wearing the hijab. "I disappeared to enjoy the process," Kartika Putri stated.Â
She admitted that she had thought about the public's expectations regarding her decision. However, the reality was not as she had imagined. "There’s nothing, thank God," she revealed.
Behind the serious story, Kartika also shares light experiences she has had. One of them happened while eating after wearing a veil. "When I was about to take a bite, I realized it wasn't my mouth, it was the veil," said Kartika Putri while laughing.
Kartika revealed that not everyone around her responded casually. She mentioned that some friends actually felt awkward meeting her. "So many friends are afraid to hang out because they say, 'Wow, Kartika is so extreme now,'" she said.Â
She also received various judgments from those around her who believed her decision was influenced by others. This suspicion was directed at her husband. "There are many judgmental people who make us feel like this must have been forced by Habib Usman," she said. However, Habib Usman emphasized, "I never forced her."
Kartika also emphasized that she does not feel any real discrimination. "Actually, what should be avoided is being overly sensitive, bib.
