After Eating Pork with Bismillah, Lina Mukherjee is Now Officially a Suspect in Blasphemy Case

In this video, Lina admits that she has violated one of the pillars of faith in Islam. She also admits that this is the third time she has eaten pork. As a Muslim, Lina is aware that eating pork is prohibited in her religion. 

As a result of this content, Lina Mukherjee was reported by lawyer Syarif Hidayat. And now, she has been named a suspect in a blasphemy case by investigators from the Special Crime Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) Sub-Division V Siber of the South Sumatra Regional Police. 

Shortly after being named a suspect, Lina finally clarified the situation in her Instagram story. There, she admitted to being surprised that she had been named a suspect. 

Previously, Lina herself admitted that there was a summons from the South Sumatra Regional Police. However, she could not attend because she was sick and it was difficult to find a ticket to South Sumatra, because it was close to Eid al-Fitr.

Lina herself wonders why she was immediately designated as a suspect. She didn't even have a chance to defend herself or talk to the police about the incident.

Meanwhile, the Director of Criminal Investigation at the South Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Pol Agung Marlianto Basuki, said that the police had previously examined expert witnesses, including with MUI.

From the case title, MUI's fatwa stated that Lina Mukherjee's content was blasphemy. From there, the South Sumatra Regional Police finally raised the status from investigation to investigation, and designated Lina as a suspect.

Previously, the police had also sent the first summons letter to Lina, but she did not attend. Currently, the police have given a second summons letter and hope that Lina can be more cooperative.
