Agnez Mo Performs the Song 'Bilang Saja' at a Concert Without Permission, Composer Ari Bias Demands a Penalty Fee of Rp 1.5 Billion!

Kapanlagi.com - Composer Ari Bias held a press conference accompanied by Minola Sebayang's legal representative. He issued an open summons to singer Agnes Monica or Agnez Mo for singing the song Bilang Saja without permission.

Agnez performed the song at a concert organized by HW Group in three cities, namely Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya in May 2023. However, until now, both parties have not fulfilled their obligations.

"This summons is related to the use of the song titled Bilang Saja, which is a work of Ari Bias, used in a music concert without permission and without paying what should be Ari Bias' right as the creator, related to his economic rights. The incident happened almost a year ago," said Minola in the Gatot Subroto area, South Jakarta, on Thursday (2/5/2024).

1. Already Sent a Closed Summons

Before delivering an open summons in front of the media, Minola Sebayang said that a closed summons had already been sent. Unfortunately, there was no response from Agnez Mo and HW Group. Moreover, they are confused about the exact address of the singer.

"Some time ago, at the request and authority given by Ari Bias, we have already sent a written closed summons to the HW Group organizer and also to Agnez Mo herself who performed the song. The content of our summons is for them to be held accountable for using the song without permission," said Minola.

2. Agnez Mo Must Pay a Penalty of Rp 1.5 Billion!

Minola Sebayang asked Agnez Mo and HW Group to immediately pay the penalty for using the song Bilang Saja three times without permission. Since one song is valued at Rp 500 million, the total is Rp 1.5 billion.

"In this summons, we ask them to immediately fulfill their obligation to pay the penalty for the violation of using the song without permission commercially in three concerts. With a penalty of Rp 500 million each. So three concerts means there is Rp 1.5 billion," said Minola.

"The Rp 1.5 billion that must be paid is considered relevant by Ari because considering Agnez Mo's performance fee is also quite large. So this is considered reasonable, especially since it has been a year," concluded Minola.
