Akash Elahi Reported for Alleged False Oath by Ex-Wife, Faces 7 Years in Prison

Kapanlagi.com - The domestic turmoil of celebrity Instagrammer Akash Elahi is heating up again. This time, his ex-wife, Emilia Janu, has taken legal action by reporting the alleged crime of false oath to the South Jakarta Metro Police.

The report was made after Emilia felt morally, mentally, and materially harmed due to the divorce status published unilaterally by Akash. According to Emilia, she only found out that she had been divorced through social media.

"Emilia initially did not know she was divorced, but after the individual published that he had divorced, then Ms. Emilia found out from social media," said Sri Dharen, Emilia Janu's legal counsel, when met at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Monday (2/6/2025).

1. Reporting Basics

In the submitted report, Emilia emphasized that she has never resided in the apartment mentioned in the divorce documents. This serves as one of the bases for reporting the alleged perjury.

"Regarding the forgery. It has been stated regarding the divorce certificate, Ms. Emilia has never lived in that apartment. We attach ID card evidence and residence letters. There is no connection between Emilia and South Jakarta. Moreover, regarding the mentioned apartment, Emilia has never been there," said Sri Dharen.

During the examination, Emilia received a total of 55 questions from the investigators. All were answered according to the existing facts to strengthen her report against the alleged legal violations committed by Akash.

2. Processed Fairly

"The examination has been completed, Ms. Emilia was given 55 questions, all answered according to the facts. Later, supporting witnesses will be examined," added Sri Dharen.

Emilia hopes that this case can be processed fairly by the police. She admitted to suffering significant losses, including damage to her reputation on social media due to unfounded accusations.

"Yes, hopefully, it can be judged fairly. I feel harmed," said Emilia Janu briefly.

Not only that, but Emilia also claimed to have received verbal attacks online. She has been referred to as an old woman who was forced to marry and various other slanders.

3. Not Examined as a Witness

"Moral, mental, material. I have also been slandered on social media. They say I am old, forced into marriage, this, that," added Emilia.

Based on the reported article, Akash Elahi faces a maximum criminal sentence of seven years in prison if proven to have committed perjury as referred to in Article 242 of the Penal Code.

"Article 242, the maximum penalty is seven years," emphasized Sri Dharen.

Although she came to the South Jakarta Metro Police, Venny Alberti, as Akash Elahi's wife, is currently not being examined as a witness. She only attended to provide moral support to Emilia in the legal process.

"Venny was not asked for testimony as a witness, it has no relation. Venny came to back up Mbak Emilia morally," concluded Sri Dharen.
