Almost Reaching 3 Million Viewers, KKN DI DESA PENARI Producer Optimistic That the Number of Viewers Will Continue to Increase

Kapanlagi.com - The horror movie KKN DI DESA PENARI has achieved quite satisfactory results, reaching 2 million viewers in less than a week, and is expected to terrorize 3 million viewers in the near future. Manoj Punjabi, the producer, is optimistic that the number of 3 million viewers can be achieved considering the high public interest.

As reported by Liputan6.com, on Sunday (8/5/2022), he mentioned the opportunities for Indonesian films in local cinemas. According to him, Indonesian films deserve more screens than imported films.

“Other cinemas even reduced the number of screens for my film. Meanwhile, Doctor Strange 2 is also decreasing its number of viewers. We were even given a small-capacity studio,” complained Manoj Punjabi.

1. Attracting Hundreds of Spectators

According to him, the film KKN in Desa Penari can still attract hundreds of spectators per day. This figure is of course fantastic for the size of Indonesian films released during the Lebaran week.

“With cinema networks like CGV Cinemas, for example, I am still coordinating. Still on the phone regarding the distribution of screens for Indonesian films and imported products,” he said.

Regarding the opportunity for Indonesian films to have more screens than imports, Manoj himself said that it depends on the initiative of the cinema.

“If there is good intention from the cinema, of course it can. Of course, by looking at the potential number of viewers that Indonesian films can attract. Good intentions are important,” he added.

As of Sunday morning, Manoj said that the film KKN Di Desa Penari has reached 2.6 million viewers. This number will certainly continue to increase considering the queue of spectators is still long.

3. Long Queue

Previously, spectators in several cities complained about the difficulty of finding tickets for KKN Di Desa Penari. Queues at cinemas occurred since morning, even triggering ticket wars and scalpers.

“Therefore, I urge cinemas to share the number of shows or playing times more fairly based on the potential viewers that can be attracted. I also hope that the relevant ministry will provide support,” he said.

“Considering that local films are made by Indonesians and the results are for all of us. Not going anywhere. After two years of being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, the creative economy industry, including films, is trying to rise and needs support from many parties,” concluded Manoj Punjabi.
