Already in Jail for 20 Days, Indra Kenz's Detention Extended for 40 Days Because of This

Kapanlagi.com - Indra Kenz, a suspect in the binary option investment fraud case through the Binomo application, was declared a suspect and detained on February 15, 2022. Because the 20-day detention period has expired, Karo Penmas Humas Polri, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, announced the extension of Indra Kenz's detention for the next 40 days.

"Regarding the suspect IK, he has been detained for 20 days from February 15 to March 17, 2022," said Ramadhan in a press conference held at Mabes Polri, Jakarta, on Thursday (24/3).

"His detention has been extended for 40 days from March 17 to April 25, 2022," Ramadhan added.

The decision to extend Indra Kenz's detention is due to the ongoing investigation process.

"Detention for 40 days is carried out for the purpose of investigation until the case is declared complete or P21 by the Prosecutor's Office," explained Ramadhan.

As reported, Indra Kenz was caught in the law for allegedly committing fraud under the guise of binary option investment through the Binomo application. The police have also seized evidence, such as Tesla and Ferrari cars, as well as three houses in the Medan area, North Sumatra.

3. Assets Worth 43.5 Billion

The estimated value of the assets seized by investigators is estimated to be worth IDR 43.5 billion. For his actions, Indra Kenz was charged under Article 45 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE).

Furthermore, Article 45 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph 1 of the ITE Law, Articles 3, 5, 10 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering Crimes (TPPU), and Article 378 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment.
