Andrea Dian's Testimony Seeing Stressed Covid-19 Patient Bite Nurse at Wisma Atlet

During the quarantine, Andrea Dian witnessed several shocking incidents. One of them was the moment when a Covid-19 patient suddenly bit her nurse.

Andrea Dian shared the incident in a video uploaded on Robert Harianto's YouTube channel (23/4).

1. Feeling Healthy

Andrea Dian recounts an incident where a patient bit their own nurse while quarantined at the athlete's dormitory. According to her, the patient may have already felt healthy but was confused as they were not allowed to go home.

"So, when we're at the athlete's dormitory, we are given a unit (room) for two people. We can still walk in the corridor, go to the rooftop to hang clothes. Now, I don't understand why this patient is still acting up. Maybe they feel like me, 'I'm already healthy, I don't feel anything anymore, why can't I go home?'" she explained.

2. Patient Refuses

When explained by the attending nurse, it seems that the patient did not accept it and immediately vented their anger by biting the nurse's hand.

"The nurse had explained everything, maybe the patient didn't accept it or something, until finally the patient got irritated and bit the nurse," Andrea recounted.

It turned out that Andrea Dian saw the incident firsthand, as she had just finished undergoing an X-ray.

"When it arrived, the doctor and other nurses told him, 'Come on, sir, let it go.' Well, I could know about the incident because I had just had an X-ray. So, I could see with my own eyes that the nurse sat on the floor and got bitten near the wrist, it was really bad," she explained.

4. Nurse Quarantined for 14 Days

Due to the incident, the bitten nurse had to undergo a 14-day quarantine. Of course, this is a preventive measure to avoid unwanted situations.

"The next day, I asked, 'Doctor, how is the nurse who got bitten yesterday?' Eventually, he became a person under surveillance (PDP) and had to be quarantined for 14 days. The doctor and nurses there thought it would be better to quarantine the nurse right away instead of taking any risks," she concluded.
