She mentioned that she has no regrets when she converted to Islam, but at that time her intention to convert was not from the heart.

"So before I got married, I converted to Islam, it's because of love, right? I never regretted it. It's just that it really wasn't from the heart," Angelina Sondakh said on MAIA ALELDUL TV's YouTube channel, Sunday (10/4/2022).

"Let's just talk about the facts, I love Adjie, I'm in love with Adjie, I converted to Islam," she said again.

Even after marrying Adjie Massaid, she still didn't seriously delve into Islam and only followed along.

"I'm a Muslim, I pray, Mas Adjie leads the prayer, I follow," she said.

Angie said that she truly delved into Islam when she was imprisoned. She never even missed the five daily prayers and completed reading the Quran.

"Well, I only really learned (about Islam) when I was detained," she said.

Angie was released from Pondok Bambu Women's Prison, Jakarta on March 3, 2022, after serving nearly 10 years of her sentence. She received an Early Release Permit (CMB) and left earlier.
