As a Witness in Court, Ahmad Sahroni Admits Adam Deni's Post Threatened Him

Kapanlagi.com - Vice Chairman of the DPR Commission III Ahmad Sahroni attended the continuation of the trial of defendant Adam Deni at the North Jakarta District Court, Wednesday (6/4). Ahmad Sahroni came as a reporting witness in the case of alleged dissemination of electronic documents on social media.

In his testimony during the trial, Ahmad Sahroni explained his reasons for reporting Adam Deni. He stated that he was not happy with Adam Deni's Instagram Story posts that uploaded some of his personal documents.

1. Insulted for 13 Consecutive Days

The document, among other things, is a process of buying and selling bicycles between him and two defendants, Ni Made Dwita Anggari. Ahmad Sahroni felt that Adam Deni had insulted him for 13 consecutive days on his Instagram Story.

"For 13 consecutive days (Adam Deni posted). I feel that the post is insulting me," said Ahmad Sahroni when testifying at the North Jakarta District Court, Monday (6/4).

After that, until the 13th day, Ahmad Sahroni saw Adam Deni's post mentioning his name. Eventually, he immediately reported Adam Deni to the authorities. Ahmad Sahroni was not happy because according to him, the narrative of Adam Deni's upload was like a threat.

"For 13 days I waited for him. After my name was mentioned (in Adam Deni's post), I immediately reported it (to the police). He threatened me, wanted to report me to PPATK (Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre) and the KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission). Wanted to be taken and reported," he said.

"Because he (Adam Deni) didn't know the problem, suddenly he threatened me," he added.

Because of his actions, Adam Deni and Ni Made Dwita Anggari were charged with violating Article 48 Paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 32 Paragraph (3) of Law Number 11 of 2008 as amended and supplemented by Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. And the subsidiary charge of Article 48 Paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 32 of the ITE Law in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
