Ashanty Asked the Committee About the Song Sung After the Match between Indonesian National Team and the Philippines, Felt Strange When She Found Out the Answer

Ashanty and her husband, Anang Hermansyah, became the center of attention and received criticism from netizens after their performance in the match between the Indonesian National Team and the Philippines at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK), Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/6/2024).

This couple performed together with the group Anang & Friends in the match, but they received a lot of criticism even though they did not get paid for the performance. Ashanty explained that they were only asked to sing and did not receive any compensation. Check out the complete story below!

"So we are also confused, if the supporters and others who don't understand blame him, but we are here, not paid either, we don't ask for anything special," said Ashanty.

According to Ashanty, they attended the stadium not as guest stars, but as regular spectators who wanted to support the Indonesian national team. "We were there to watch, not to be guest stars. We were really watching, we are fans of the national team, not just FOMO," she said.

However, Ashanty admitted that they did not fully understand the culture of football matches, which caused confusion during their performance. The organizing committee should have informed them about the football culture.

"But we don't understand if the culture (of football matches). The committee should inform us about the football culture if we win (how)," she said.

Before that, Ashanty asked the committee about the songs that should be sung if the national team wins or loses. "I asked 'what song will we sing if we win? What song will we sing if we lose?' (The answer) 'the same song'. (Ashanty said) 'huh, why should we sing that song?' We already feel strange," she said.

As a singer, Ashanty felt obliged to continue singing when the song was played even though the situation was uncomfortable. However, in their last performance, she chose to withdraw because she felt uncomfortable with the atmosphere.

"But as a singer, when the song is played, we can't help but sing, you know? Otherwise, we'll look weird like, why aren't we singing?" she said. "But in this longing, I don't want to sing anymore. Other artists sing, I go to the back, because I feel uncomfortable," she continued.

Ashanty feels sad because those who come to support without payment become the target of slander. "It doesn't make sense, that's why. It's sad because we don't know anything, we're here without payment, we're just supporting, but we're the ones who get treated like that," she concluded.
