Ashanty Was Initially Scared When Invited by Titi DJ to Duet in the Song 'Superwoman'

Kapanlagi.com - Indonesian diva, Titi DJ has released her latest work. This time she collaborated with Eka Gustiwana who acted as the music producer and Ashanty as her duet partner. Titi DJ also revealed the process behind the making of her new song titled Superwoman.

"After the Show Off Your Colors project, Eka said let's make another one. Oh gladly. So we workshopped, and on the spot, we made the lyrics," said Titi DJ at a press conference in Sudirman, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (11/11).

"Eka asked what message we wanted to convey, what concept. I said I wanted to make a song about women's empowerment, so we started looking for suitable music. I wanted the music to be upbeat, danceable, something that makes people want to dance, like the kids nowadays. So we made the music and the lyrics," she continued.

1. Reasons Titi DJ Invites Ashanty

Actually, there are several singer candidates who will duet with Titi DJ in this song. However, eventually Ashanty was chosen because according to Titi DJ, she is the most suitable one as she aligns with the message that wants to be conveyed through this song.

"Before Ashanty, there were actually several names. Finally, Ashanty was chosen according to my criteria as a superwoman, a woman who can fulfill her dreams without forgetting her nature as a woman. She is still pursuing her education at the highest level, even while pregnant with her second child. She can still take care of herself, her husband, and her children, and she is also successful with her business," said Titi DJ.

In addition, Titi DJ also admires Ashanty for working on the song project Superwoman to the fullest.

"I believe that song is destined for Ashanty. I really admire her for giving her maximum effort in recording the song. I told her it was already good enough, but she said she could do better. I made the right choice in choosing Ashanty," said the mother of Stephanie Poetri.

2. Ashanty Was Initially Afraid

Meanwhile, Ashanty admitted that she was initially hesitant and afraid when she was first invited to collaborate by Titi DJ. This is because she has never duetted with a female singer before. After getting married, she always duets with her husband, Anang Hermansyah. But after receiving support from her husband, Ashanty finally accepted this collaboration invitation.

"I was surprised when mami Titi contacted me, I have never duetted except with my husband, I was afraid. But Anang said, why hesitate, the song is also good. After thinking about it, I decided to take it, try it out, who knows it might work and it just happened like that. Meeting, recording, and thankfully the recording was anticipated by mami," explained Ashanty.

In terms of music, Eka Gustiwana also provided a different touch compared to previous produced songs. He wanted to create a new color and step out of his comfort zone, resulting in the song Superwoman.

"We want (the music) to be out of the box. If we release a sad song, we might succeed, but we don't want that. We want something that is rarely seen in Indonesia. The song Superwoman is disco, pop, 80s music but with modern lyrics. I like producing music outside of my comfort zone. Here, Eka wants to create a new color that people will immediately remember," she concluded.
